What began as a mandatory speech class in college, turned into destiny for comedian Frances Dilorinzo. As a freshman, she sat quietly in class. Her instructor encouraged everyone to add humor to his or her speeches. Frances decided to take the risk, add some jokes and everyone was in hysterics! From the class she was recruited to the speech team. Frances Dilorinzo became the first to win California’s Gold Metal in the Speech to Entertain category two years in a row! Frances soon hit the real world of comedy…the nightclubs in L.A. This was a new world of comedy…instead of contending with judges; she had to deal with drunks and hecklers. Much to her own surprise, Frances realized she was not only funny, but quick. The audience rarely won when they challenged Frances Dilorinzo in a war of wit! Frances is now full of funny! She combines enthusiasm with sarcasms, and intellect with silliness. Although Frances is all female, her comedy is not for women only. Frances notes, “People are constantly coming up to me and saying, ‘I don’t usually like female comedians, but I think you’re hilarious’. Frances says, "I take it as a compliment." Frances soon went from college to clubs to T.V. Her credits include Last Comic Standing, Comics Unleashed, Comedy Central, Lifetime, BET, and more. In addition, she has also entertained on USO tours around the world, is developing her own show, and has performed for top corporations and a zillion colleges across the country.
